I read and DNFd a few books in April- but in addition to the books I already reviewed- The Storyteller and the Lucy Barton series… these were the stand outs.
Haley and the Yeti
This was a super cute and ridiculously over the top “coincidence” type romance. I downloaded it because it is set in Tucson, where I lived for many years and had my first 3 children. I LOVE TUCSON, so I tend to gravitate towards anything set in the desert.
This didn’t disappoint – the setting and the people were all so believable. The romance was tame- closed door and sweet.
Haley takes a job out of state to get away from a breakup and to low key/high key stalk a famous director. She ends up living next to the mysterious Yeti man and the story that unfolds is VERY cute.
I have the second in the series downloaded- just haven’t read it yet.
Alive at Night
I LOVED THIS!
It had all my favorite tropes:
~fake dating
~he falls first
~enemies to lovers-ish
Plus the setting and build up was fun. A super cute romance with some spice.
Fourth Wing and Iron Flame
I absolutely LOVED this series- and I cannot wait until the next book comes out!
Olive and I started reading these together- and then after finishing the first book in a long binge- we found out a woman from church had read the second one… and she gave us a STRONG urging to hurry UP.
We both blasted through Fourth Wing and were able to hold a mini-book club meeting at church the next week.
I love the dragon riding and magical school where every day is life or death. The stakes are high and my adrenaline was going non-stop. If you enjoy fantasy, some angsty/spicy romance AND dragons? this is a fun and fast paced read.
